Background training asa a concertise of the classical guitar. Over the years has worked with Sun Ra (as a member of his Arkestra), Don Ayler, Charles 'Bobo' Shaw, Luther Thomas, and many others of renoun who have created the artistic culture of improvised music coming from New York's Lower East Side. Has been the director of the 'Sun Ra Impossible Space Circus', a group consisting of Sun Ra Arkestra alumni performing from original Sun Ra scores. Founding member of the trio ensemble'Cartoon Satellite'. Has created what has been named 'djuke music', a kind of concept of the 'roots jazz orchestra' that carries Afro-pulse beat, free-jazz, voodoo blues, groove-funk and song lyrics. Performs often as a improvisational soloist, playing guitar(s), electric violin and keyboards, sometimes together with electronic beatboxes. Still performs as a classical guitarist. |
